7 Common Myths about Body Contouring

There are many wacky myths flying around the web about body contouring, and we want to set the record straight. Here are eight of the most common myths we’ve heard lately.

Myth #1: Liposuction will remove all of my cellulite forever

Liposuction removes fat, but true cellulite is a bit different. If you are looking to remove cellulite, you would be a better candidate for a “lift,” whether it be on your thighs, buttocks, wherever. Liposuction will remove fatty tissue from a troublesome area, but it is not meant to remove cellulite deposits which are actually a part of your skin tissue.

Myth #2: The only body contouring method that works is traditional liposuction

This is not true at all. There are multiple options on the market today that are very effective at removing body fat. A great option to remove stubborn body fat that allows you to avoid surgery completely, is SculpSure. This is a quick 25-minute treatment that gives you natural looking results without any pain, scarring or downtime.

Myth #3: All body contouring requires a long recovery period

When traditional liposuction first began over three decades ago, there was a lengthy recovery period for many people, but that is no longer true. While invasive body contouring may require a few days of recuperation at home, procedures like SculpSure literally have no downtime at all.

Myth #4: Body contouring is only meant for a couple areas of the body

With today’s options, you can have body contouring all over, from your neck and chin, to your chest, your arms and upper back, your waist and hips, your buttocks and thighs, and even your knees.

Myth #5: Body contouring is a form of weight loss

Body contouring is not meant to be a form of weight loss. These procedures should only be used to help with stubborn areas of body fat that have been resistant to diet and exercise. Weight loss must be adopted as a lifestyle change that encompasses many elements, and that does not include using surgical or non-invasive liposuction as a substitute for poor lifestyle habits.

Myth #6: All body contouring is painful

Actually body contouring does not have to be painful. SculpSure is a painless treatment that allows you to rest comfortably while your body fat is being melted away. And an extra bonus – SculpSure has no residual pain post-treatment, which means you can resume your normal activities immediately!

Myth #7: Body contouring is too expensive

While some procedures can be pricier than others, there are affordable techniques available today that can be worked into most budgets. Instead of body contouring costing upwards of thousands of dollars as it did in years past, many of today’s options are much more affordable. What’s better?

Most offices that specialize in body contouring also offer some sort of payment plan or special financing to allow you to pursue your treatment and conveniently pay for it.
