The holidays left my skin in disarray. A few weeks of sugar-, carb- and fat-laden meals caused my pores to become congested, my complexion to look sallow and for red patches to call my face home. Not one to let nature take its course and allow my skin to eventually revert back to normal, I went in to serious clean up mode and I knew a good pore de-clogging mask was a must.

Cute packaging aside, it was the idea of sucking all the gunk out of my pores that was clogging them up so bad that made me reach for the new Benefit The Porefessional Masks ($32) rather than one of my many jars of trusted clay masks. Thinking that this sheet-like mask would work kind of like a Biore strip (don’t expect to see the remnants of what was living in your skin on the mask once you’re done with the treatment; you won’t) I decided to give it a shot.
Before I even applied it to my skin I was already impressed—you press down on the plastic bubble on the packaging to release a special pore cleansing serum that fully saturates the mask. Then, apply the mask for 10 minutes to any problem area with monster-sized pores that you desperately want to shrink—the chin, nose or forehead. I chose to let the mask work its magic first on my nose and was so excited by the end result that I used another one a few minutes later on my chin.
Loaded with mushroom extract to purge and clarify the pores, this exfoliating and toxin eliminating treatment is a must try. My skin is definitely looking cleaner, tighter and smoother and my pores aren’t nearly as stretched out or jam-packed since I’ve starting use these masks. I’m definitely adding these to next year’s holiday shopping list.
