The New Foil Mask That Has Every Beauty Editor Obsessed

Think of this as the younger, cooler sister to Estée Lauder's cult-classic Advanced Night Repair that you've come to love over the years. This Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask ($79 for four) from the Advanced Night Repair line is a worldwide first for the brand and anything but your basic sheet mask. It just launched stateside a couple weeks ago—it debuted in South Korea a month earlier—and has already sparked a frenzy among beauty editors who love posting pictures of themselves on Instagram donning the Tin Man–esque mask (myself included).

The reason it's so special lies in the supercharged PowerFoil technology, which allows for the ultra-potent serum to deeply penetrate your skin with a whole host of moisturizing actives like hyaluronic acid. The foil creates a barrier so the ingredients aren't able to evaporate, which can happen with other sheet masks. Another thing I like is that the mask comes in two pieces so you can apply the bottom half first (from your nose down to your chin) and then the top. It helped keep the mask in its place without slipping down (another common issue with sheet masks)—a definite plus, especially if you like to multitask like I do and wear one while you're making dinner or transferring the laundry. The results are the best part: I noticed smoother, brighter skin with a bit of plumpness to it and absolutely no redness at all.

Wear it once a week for 10 minutes (you'll feel a little bit of a warming sensation that tells you it's working) and then massage in the excess serum after you take it off. Your skin will be pretty  wet, but trust me, you'll want to savor every last drop.
