This Bubbling Mask Gives You A Post-Facial Glow

I recently got to a really offensive place with my daily face cleansing.

It started out harmlessly enough: I went away for the weekend and instead of packing my normal cleanser I opted to fly liquid-free in order to still make the carry-on cut-off. When I got to the hotel, I was so exhausted that I used one of those “facial bars” that I am convinced are the exact same as the “body bars” every hotel has—just in a tinier, less sinister-looking package.

Nothing bad happened right away, so, like a lab rat who can’t learn its lesson, I kept going with my newfound facial bar—until the third day when I noticed my skin seemed to not want to let my normal moisturizer soak into it. I flew back home and I don’t know if it was the stale airplane air or the hotel facial soap finally rearing it’s ugly head, but by the time I went to bed that night, I literally had dry patches on my face that were peeling off.

That morning when I woke up, I knew I was in trouble. I am not normally a big mask person, but I had recently received e.l.f. cosmetics Hydrating Bubble Mask ($14) and quickly reached for it in hopes it would help in some way.

The delivery system is really cool—you sort of press both sides of the circle and the fresh-scented formula comes out of the middle of the dispenser, which makes it more hygienic and less wasteful. It goes on sort of gel-like, then quickly turns into a bubbling fizzy foam you can feel working to clean out your pores. You leave it on for a few minutes, then wash off to reveal way more hydrated, soft, glowing skin. It’s literally insurance for all your skin-care fouls
