Kerry Washington Nails a Deal With OPI

Kerry Washington recently nailed the new title role as creative ambassador for the popular nail-care brand, OPI. The role is perfect for Washington who loves experimenting with bright, bold and neutral lacquers on the red carpet.  

"This is going to be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to testing out new colors on the red carpet. The fun, for me, is that nail lives in the crossover space between fashion and beauty,” Washington to WWD.

Washington was the perfect fit for the popular nail brand considering her love for their long-lasting, pigmented polishes. A few of her go-to shades include Big Apple Red, a bright, captivating flirty shade, and You Don’t Know Jacques, a warm brown neutral polish. 

Weiss-Fischmann, cofounder of the popular polish brand, added, "she [Washington] has a huge love of nail lacquer and has worn OPI for years and years." Weiss-Fischmann and the OPI team are excited to work with the innovative Washington to whip up new and enticing shades for 2016. “When the opportunity came around to have Kerry join OPI as our creative ambassador, the answer was instantly yes. She empowers women through her sophisticated style, humor and confidence," revealed Weiss-Fischmann. 

Experimenting with new shades won't be a difficult task for the star who has already lent her beauty expertise to Neutrogena makeup. Washington encouraged the well known brand to expand its foundation and lipstick line to women of color. The Hollywood star hopes to live in a beauty world "where everyone has the ability to express the beauty that reflects them." 

The sophisticated and creative star hopes to release shades that represent all aspects of herself. Washington noted celebrity Gwen Stefani as an inspiration."She [Stefani]  has done such a great job having her collection represent her — not just with OPI, but through everything she’s done. If I can do something similar, I will be very happy.”
